Johnny Reidy is a remarkable accordion player who attributes his passion for music to his uncle. He shares, “He was a fantastic accordion player and brought 25 All-Ireland champions to County Kerry. Everyone he taught over the years won an All-Ireland title. I wasn’t particularly keen on playing at the time, but now I’m incredibly grateful I did. He never played in a band; he simply taught others how to play.”
He continues, “I wouldn’t be as good as I am without the band I have- Johnny Reidy Ceili Band. I’ve a great banjo player, I’ve a great keyboard player, and I’ve a great fiddle player. Back home, I’ve another great flute player and a fiddle player. Without them, I wouldn’t be as good as I am.”
We’re excited to announce that the Johnny Reidy Ceili Band will be playing at our Waltzing in Wexford event this November !
